Is it possible to convert GMAX format into a DBP file format and where can I get free music editing software?

Good games are made by powerful coders

No. See the GMax thread in the 3D chat session. You might want to re-think your choice of editors.

Sorry, but I don't know of any free music editor. Search for mod and impulse tracking software and see if they have a WAV/OGG/MP3 export capability.

Maybe you can export a .md3 file from gmax (with one of those gamepacks) and then convert it into .x with a converter (there are very many converters for .md3 and .x) or directly load the .md3 into dbp

I like gMax....but thats just because thats what I used to learn 3D Studio. Aside from that or using it to create models for Quake 3 or Flight Simulator 2002, its pretty useless. Its best to think of it purely as a way to learn 3DS, like the PLE version of Maya.

Maybe you can code an .X ASCII mode exporter in gmax's MAXSCRIPT...
The file-access commands are really limited but it can be done...
Don't really know if scripting such thing is legal...

Currently coding: MAG
Recent coding: Video Capture Plug-in
