right, im making a fps and im now trying to get my weapons to switch. Ive got them to just switch the models, no animation or anything. no im trying to put an animation in.

this is my switch between 2 weapons code. can sum1 tell me why the animation isnt playing?

load object "g3k.dbo", 1
load object "gun.x", 3
if inkey$()="1" then play object 1, 1, 20 : wait 500 : hide object 1 : show object 3

this SHOULD play the animation of the weapon going down, but it doesnt. whats wrong?

Thanks

also, ive tried exporting a .3ds model, then importing it back into 3dsmax. it retains the animation, so it is working!. but i need it as .x,
also, does anybody know if its my code causing the problem?, can anyone else get this to work?

Thanks

Well what are you using to export it? Panda exporter is very good but you need to configure it correctly , also be aware that some modifiers will screw your model up in dark basic. I use Max 5, which version are you using? Also ive had problems when exporting animations, the frames have been different to the ones in Max, so it may be that your animation works but you are playing the wrong frames for it. Have a mess around and see what comes up
