I've seen a couple of versions of this in the forums. Don't remember where, but if you spend a few looking you will find them.

maybe add the text to a matrix and move the matrix away from the camera at a horizon perspective?

not sure how that would work though, I'll work the code tonight when I get home and let you know.

Do you mean Star Wars Scrolling text?
There's a demo of it on the DarkBasic Demo CD
Also one or two on CodeBase (^_^)

Though would be quite simple to put up a star background, and then precalc the text into textures - put them on plains and scroll along Z, set the Camera to Z -55°
bobs ya unckie you've got what you want.

I did a thing on doing that. I used a textured plain. Here is the code, you just need to created a bitmap with some text (or in any paint program) and texture the plain.

That actually scrolls the object vertically, and not along the Z axis.

What you meant was probably this :

Redgeneral, use this.

It's been slightly modified by me but credit should go to the original author but I don't know who that was!

The main problem with my routine is that the text is all blury, and halfway along, the texture actually starts fading out and re-appearing elsewhere.

I can't, unfortunatly, convert it for DB as I've only got DBPro

Looks good though, so it should be exactly what I need for my star wars game. Thanks - RED GENERAL
