Radeon9600PRO users should check if their cards are PRO-lite versions:

Watch out for the PRO-lite versions of the radeon9600 series. I've bought one too from MadView and i'm NOT happy.

The real 9600PRO:
core: 300mhz
memory: 300mhz (x2) | 128MB only

The lite 9600PRO:
core: 300mhz
memory: 200mhz (x2) | 128MB and 256MB

If you have a PRO-lite version get your money back or trade it with a real PRO version.

How do I find out if I have a PRO-lite?
Get a tweak application like Powerstrip.
http://entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm
Go to the overclock tab in the program and check the speeds:
The PRO-lite memory runs at 400mhz and the real PRO runs at 600mhz.

NOTE:
-256MB versions always run at 400mhz.
-If powerstrip shows that your memory is running at 200mhz / 300mhz, dont scream, the memory on the 9600 is DDR (double data rate), so multiply the speed with 2x first

The reason why I am posting this:
-The PRO-lite version runs much slower than the real PRO
I've tested this in 3Dmark2003 (difference was ~700 3Dmarks)
and in 3Dmark2001 (difference was ~2000 3Dmarks)

-Manufactures like MadView are labelling the boxes and cards with
9600PRO, even if it's a LITE version!!! But they are allowed to do
this! Ask if it's a real PRO when you are about to buy one.

As a rule of thumb, don't buy Radeons from anyone but ATI or Sapphire (the best maker of Radeons next to ATI). And don't buy GeForces from anyone but nVidia!

My Gforce 5200 hasn't even got a company name on the box, but it seems to work how it should.
