What is it?
DarkBASIC Professional From The Ground Up is a darkbasic mini-book designed to help out newbies who are puzzled with DarkBASIC's very bad manual, thus (hopefully) making the amount of worthless posts decline in number. It covers the basic fundamentals and makes sure that all of the code is explained in detail

When will it be finished?

DarkBASIC Professional From The Ground Up will be finished within the next few months, and will be available online for download, and the unfinished book is available at http://www.lsgaming.com/book.PDF.

How much will it cost?

DarkBASIC Professional From The Ground Up will probably be released for a minimal fee of around $0.50, although we are contemplating releasing it for free.

I found a mistake :
The sign used to define a variable as a float is not called a pound sign, it's a hash. A pound sign is £ and a hash is #.

I they are called pound signs (#) in america; it has nothing to do with the british currency, though. I guess it would be mainly associated with touch tone phones. So really, it isn't really a mistake...

Even in the book "Beginning DarkBASIC Game Programming" it calls # the pound sign.

Really? Wow, did't know that one. In the UK they're called hashes on phones and everywhere else too.
Maybee you could put next to it: (NB. UK- hash sign).

Edit: Just browsing through and you might want to put a waitkey in before end for the Chapter 3 example program so they get a chance to see the varibles printed on the screen before the program exits .

It's also severely lacking in some areas eg. you will also need to explain about different sorts of loops instead of just Do-loops and include information the exit command. You also need to explain types too.

Well, thanks for being so attentive jrowe, but that is for a reason, as they will be covered in the appendix as more advanced things, Vash and I are just trying to teach basic fundamentals.

in america the # is called a "hash" and represents a number...so you could say #7 instead of "number seven"

And we call it a "hekje" in dutch

@Wooly mammoth games

It looks good, but where's the collision chapter?
And please, but a blank page between each chapter (makes it look nicer)

TGC are a UK based company, ergo the # character should be referred to as a hash sign.
