I haven't bought the program yet but was curious if you have to pay a liscensing fee to DarkBasic to use a game commercially?

Thanks for the help,

Whatever Indi said, there are no liscensing fees or commercial fees or anything of the kind. You could sell the most popular game of the year and not give a single mention to Dark Basic, legally.

I put it in if it's relevant

if it's the sort of game where lots of people could code addons then it's best to mention what it was cooded in for compatability
but otherwhise i dont metion that i've coded in DB because if someone wanted to crack the game they have to figure out the language first

Ahah, but not a lot of people know this - VB and DB are really tough to crack because a cracker would use a machine code dissasembler. When all the exe does is run and interpret embedded and encoded source, cracking it would involve some serious work, more than most crackers would bother with.

Sorta, it needs runtime files to execute the code.

Most proggies you use now use an interpreter of somekinda, i mean Dx even technically uses them but as its actually built into windows itself doesn't really count hehee
