Since it seems impossible to change the topic afterwards, I'm posting this little bump to announce that there's a new prize on the contest!

Good call las6 - this is the sort of thing we need to boost DBP's profile I would enter, but ... err - well, I don't have an excuse not to enter really

Fair enough, I suppose this means I don't have to spend weeks modeling, animating and texturing people... while they won't add points, I'm assuming they won't take off points. Surely a tech demo involving texture maps requires 3D models to put those textures onto, right?

First of all, I don't count 3d primitives as models.
What I'm saying is that I try to be fair when I judge the entries. Some people might have plenty of extra good looking geometry around, but for example, highpoly babe model walking in the middle of a textured cube for example won't necessarily get any more points than the textured cube on it's own. Actually, if you do go ahead and add some unnatural babe model in it, you would most likely get lower score. That's because such models don't have any style at all.

But yeah, level model showing off the textures is nice thing to have. But I'm going to judge it the way the textures are fit in it, not how the model looks.

and last thing... the tech demo can be done in any language you want. Not DBpro restricted, but given the deadline (about a month), you'll probably be better off using these rapid development languages/tools.
