I'm back from a weeks camping. To be honest I don't care about the hack, if someone can really be arsed to do something like that then good for them. I have everything on my hard drive anyway.

I don't know how I would protect my site and I don't care, it's really just something to upload my things to. Fixing it now anyway.

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

THANK YOU HAMISH...this is the first terrain editor that makes sense to me, and doesn't force you to use one huge, rigid, untweakable texture map and useless heightmap attempts.
This is a milestone.
my best congrats..keep working on it.
I have one technical question tho..is the minimum brush size constrainted to the one tile size or could it be made smaller.?.that would allow road painting despite keeping lesser larger tiles for speed reasons.
there is a workaround of course, by using layers with narrow road image blended in the main texture, but you need as many layers as the road directions and bends are..after a while it gets really complicated..
All the best

Scorpyo - The texture blending is limited to the vertices of the landscape. You could make your own program to paste down roads, by reading the height data using intersect object.

Aura - Sorry about the link, not my fault, you'll just have to wait.

Temp Download

This link is likely to be taken down some time. If someone could host the latest version (1.1) then it'd be greatly appreciated.

funkadelic, i could use this for outside terrain for my heroquest game, love the blending of textures, makes for some really good terrain texturing, instead of marking one block with one texture it blends in and creates a mean effect. nicely done hammish

Mr Monkey Man - Have you got the textures in the correct directory? Open the mts file in notepad, and the texture directories (wherever they are) will show what directory the textures have to be in.

Hey Jeku, my site is back up (after about 3 months of it not being up ). If you want to host it still, then just download it off my website, I'd still be grateful.

This is a pretty cool looking program. I export Multiscape to .x, then try to import the terrain into Cartography shop using the prefab maker. It's either really tiny or it just didn't work right. Not sure what to do. 3D Canvas models import pretty well into CShop, so I'm not sure why I cann't do this with Multiscape. I know I have to scale up the 3D Canvas image before I export to CShop.

The .x export option I coded myself with DBPro's I/O commands, so I think the files may not work in some programs (though they work in MS MeshEdit). An easy way is to scale the object up within cart shop. I found that the vertex alpha and colours aren't imported into most programs, and I'm pretty sure that I stored them in the .x files correctly, it just seems most programs don't support this.

I tried to scale up in Cart Shop, but it was ineffective. I basically couldn't scale up the image. In the end, I still couldn't see anything. I'm really looking for a way to build an entire world outside of DB Pro, before I load it. Programs like CShop are great, because I can see changes happening right in front of my face, and it seems simpler, with point and click type adjustments. CShop currently doesn't have terrain though, except in the Beta version, which leaves me needing some way to put CShop maps together with terrain from another program.

Thanks,

Troy

Anime Blood - I will consider trying to make a plugin. No promises though.

Mr Underhill - I have attached the DLL that you also need to stick in the plugins folder. Sorry for not including that .

Thanks, Hamish! The importer seems to work perfectly (although that multiplyer still confuses me ), but I discovered a few bugs while experimenting with it. When I'm loading/creating a 200x200 terrain, the terrain object turns invisible. When I make one that's 150x150, it ends up all stretched out (likes it's only 10x150 or something). Just thought I'd point it out. Great program, btw!

Nice application. I'm sure with a few more features you could charge for this. Any chance you could add an export heightmap/texturemap option so the landscapes can be used with advanced terrain?
