i have looked through the posts and have tried all the settings but i cant seem to extract an animted model form 3d studio to *.x format and for it to work in DBPRO.

when it is trying to load the file in dbpro it just bombs out.
is it something i am doing wrong or is there a setting i should be using on extracting the model?

i tried the settings and it would now load the *.x file in to dbpro, but when i use the command PLAY OBJECT 1,0,100 it would not play.
the 3d object was created in 3ds max 6 and has 3 keyframes of animation but in dbpro the object just sits there and does nothing.

am i doing something wrong?

I'm facing the same problem as you. I created a simple animation in 3D max 6 and used the PandaSoft DX exporter. However the animation cannot be played in DBPro.
my command lines are
load object filename, 1
set object speed 1,100
play object 1
wait key
Do I need to add anything else?
