Here it is...

I release a BETA map demo developped with X4 and using my Game Engine ....

Warning !!! That demo support 3 of 4 camera view ( and game type ) so, engine can be slow on some computers. The final release will probably be faster as source code ( and .exe ) will only contain choosen game type data ...

Here is the direct link for download :
http://xquadeditor.free.fr/X4Editor-GameEngine_BETADemo_Rel0.9m.zip

Here are some snapshots coming from that demo to show you during your download what you'll see :

Here is the roomm for jumps :

Will you be able to jump and go take the secret key ???

Here is a nice moon in a dark night sky :

Do you like when it rain ???

Brrr!! When it's raining, it's better to go in a protected place

And here is a last one :

I run the demo several time just to see the sun go down and the light fade down too ...

I must say... impressed.

I personally don't like fps games that much but am always curious what other people create in DB. And this is good stuff!!! I think it's better than the DeathBed demo that was created in one week and has serious speed (and other) problems. This is a good engine. Mouse look is smooth, i can play this!!! The world is a little dark and you can't see the diamonds that good, less transparancy?

Only thing is; at 12000 polys my framerate dropped from 50 to 18 or so. How do you count the polys on the screen? Is there a command i missed?

Keep it up.

O, and for the gameplay sakes;
- Add strafe (left and right cursor) and left mouse button to shoot.

Freddix:

Nice work! The torches looked good. Average of 30FPS i'd say.

IIRC, you were going to release a level editor for this?

Everything in the game looks great. Good work! I just had low frames per second. My computer isn't that fast. Keep up the good work.

@Dennuz666 v2 :
I said :

it's due to the fact that you can change camera view with F , R , T .... I use many IF to choose which functions to use depending on which camera mode you are .... final product will have faster source code specific to each camera mode available

@ Rpg Cyco :
That map was builded using my IP map editor "X-Quad Editor".
The objective is to give a full system to help game creation with no need to code ... ( only scriptes for entities to make custom AI ) so X4 will be selled with specifig source code

@ AramusM :

Yes I know there are few minor problems .. I'll fix them as soon as possible but, I released a demo to show people what X4 actually support ( and all can't be showed in a single demo ) ... X4 do more than you see

More will come soon ....

Lol indeed this does run a lot faster and smoother than the buggy demo I released (Another one coming soon with those issues fixed ) From what I can see they are very different engines though, taking a different approach. This is a cool looking project and I look forward to seeing more of what it can do!

Ignoring the already mentionned minor bugs this is a good demo, great achivement, and shows a lot of potential for the engine you're working on Good work Freddix, I look forward tyo hearing more of X4
