This is a charity auction, its a shame somebody ruined it with a bid they're obviously not gonna carry out Quite funny though if it WASN'T for charity

Dont forget that its legally binding (if they dont drop out) - in which case someone will have to fork out £10 million...

Ian Hislop is one the team captains on the satirical(sp?) quiz show on the BBC called "Have i got news for you" its very very funny. He's also the editor of "Private Eye" which is a magazine and also very funny. the show and the magazine basically take the p*** out of pretty much anything that happens in the news. They put that bid up on ebay for a joke on the show.

I don't think they did. The seller is also selling loads of other memorabilia.

HIGNFY is one of the best shows around, I've got a mate who refuses to watch it though. Apparently they make fun of the War On Terror too much.

Looks like they had to cancel the auction cos of the stupid bid ammounts. Same thing happenned when Jamie Oliver auctioned stuff for charity recently too

Yes I did watch the show, and yes it IS/WAS a charity auction. Still kinda funny though. Oh an Private Eye is a fantasic magazine, well worth reading, unless you're one of the types of people who just reads the comics, not the articles with lots of long words

I don't get it about the ridiculous bid amounts. Shouldn't those people be legally forced to pay that much money?

Most were alternate accounts made by people - probably going to withdraw.

Yeah, but they just say they did a typo and accidentally put in the wrong number.
