Does anyone rememer that a few years back a DB demo disc was published by TGC ( not the one supplied with the boxed DB ) containing lots of DB Classic games?

Does anyone have this disc?

If so, please tell me as a game of mine which I no longer have is on that disc.

I think I have it.

*Rummages through room and stacks of CD's*

Well this one isn't published by TGC but it may be a copy of it. PC Active Volume 8, June 2001. Has an extended demo version of DarkBASIC (classic) and I quote: "Over 400MB of demos, add ons and source code to get started". This was actually the CD that got me into DB and now DBP.

There's a second CD that also has a number of other demos on it including Ulead Photo Express, Video Studio and 3D Mark 2001, but again, they are on an entirely different CD which leads me to believe that the first may be a (presumably authorised) copy of the CD you are referring to. Can't be too sure though.

Anyway, tell me the name of the game as there's a high chance it will be on it.

I remember what you mean - it was a disc that Dark Basic Software (back in the day) complied - it was basically all of the games from the showcase. It was up for sale in the store section of the old darkbasic.com site. I didnt buy it though.

Here's the readme (with directory listing) on the CD:

See if your game is listed.

I've already answered that I have it (albeit, a republished copy of it).

That's the DarkBASIC Archive CD I believe.

Drew - as I said, I most likely have your game. Tell us what it was called and I'll email it.

Cheers,

Rich

@ Exeat: I should've mentioned, that's not the CD. Thanks sincerely for looking it up for me anyway. Appreciated and very helpful of you.

@ Dave Richey: You are a life saver! The game was Dumbo and Cool or something similar by DDRW games I believe. My e-mail address is [email protected], thankyou in advance.

You can be cool by smacking Drew for bumping at six hour intervals. Maybe remind him that this is a forum and not a chat room and that users login in and out 24/7. It's entirely possible that the exact person you need to talk to will not be available for 20 or more hours. Bumping is usually a waste of resources.
