Is anyone else having trouble getting their stuff from Fast Track?
Ive been waiting scince the 14 of may for them to pull their finger out and deliver Dark Basic Pro.

First they "forgot" to prossess the order. Then it "got left behind at the depot". Then a nice lady from them called Penny delivered it to me by hand but it was Dark Basic, not Dark Basic Professional. And now it was supposed to arrive today (1/6/04) and it still bloody hasnt and now they say "There isnt anybody here who can prossess orders here today to look into it."

Unbelievable!!!

Has anybody else got tales of woe like this?

How did you come up with month first? Is there a benefit?

If you ask me, people should just use a TLA for the month. It'd simplify everything.

I think the british date format is more logical, why so hard to understand? dd/mm/yy is a more logical order than mm/dd/yy because it follows them in the correct order smallest to biggest. I hate it when a date is given and you dont know which format its in. Hopefully the day is over 12 so it cant be a month, but if not you cant tell

Because in a conversation, saying "June 1" sounds more logical than "1 June" or "1st of June." I just hovered my cursor over my taskbar clock, and the format is [Month] [Day], [Year].

I see and use both equally. I think it's more logical giving them in the order that they come.

Year is made of up of months, month is made up of days etc.

It's like describing a time as

seconds, hours, minutes

Programmatically, using mm/dd/yy could be easier than dd/mm/yy when comparing/finding differences between dates.
However, it should be converted to a Julian date beforehand anyway, so then the advantage goes....

Programmatically, using yy/mm/dd would be easier !
But I prefer dd/mm/yy.

yeah ... but what about server times ? and we should have something that wouldn't be else in each country, nor in space.

Better yet, let's get back on subject!

DarkBASIC Professional only took about two weeks to get here. I live in the USA too, so that's not bad for overseas shipment.

Same for me, we ordered DBP (in the US) and it came within a week. YAY!

DBS (as they were known back then) did have a US based Pro distributor called Real Game Tools.

Unfortunately, lack of orders meant the company went bust - Guys (the guy who ran it) disappeared without a trace.

Didn't even bother to release any patches for the editor
