...but still need work, I am not sure if it loads textures, and it forces the mesh to be at 0,0,0 and some other things explained in the site.
Mainly, I post this thinking mainly that those expert blender heads that could be here may give it a serious try..I have been testing and seems it loads ok in Mesh Viewer and Skinnedmesh tool (both of MS SDK v 8 and 9) and in last case, re saving in meshview, it usually makes any x file more "compliant" with game engines that suport x files. (a tip)
I mean, any blender newbie can end up hating it as is not easy to make a test. Of course , try if you want, but is not that it does not work, it is that as is a wip yet, it needs soem stuff to setup.
Mainly I announce also to make you know that x files are going to be possible to make with a free software called Blender, even animated characters. I have done tests and could load animated x models in meshviewer, so I know it works. But the skeleton and blender file must me prepared in certain way.
Ben will continue improving it, so don't worry.
But thought is a very good new, and that i 'd let you know, specially as since some time, Db Pro has the great feature of importing x weighted animations. (I am not a coder, so I can't test my own, so if exists the combination of an expert blender user here, also expert with DBPRO and x files, hey, please, test it and comment all you wish in this thread...please....)
Ok, Ben Omari's site :
