I finally got the extra ram for my video editing macintosh, hurrah its about time.
still have to get final cut pro and a decent camera next

Macs are good for some things, like what indi is using his for. Multimedia stuff is their specialty.

Yeah, Final Cut Pro for the Mac is easily the best video editing suite, of course you have stupid Windows rips but they're nowhere near as good.

yeah im going to start offering services in the way of television adds and music videos. Final Cut Pro HD is a wicked application for broadcast content. Slowly but surely im building up the studio to handle those jobs.

Adobe Premiere pales in comparison to some of the Mac applications available, the interface is cluttered and they've gone for the "give them as many effects as possible" route and just piled in all the features they could think of. Unfortunately the outcome of this is a difficult to use application.

@las6: About your sig, it's not funny. That happens to my logitech kb _everytime_ and it's too annoying. I have to literally shake the kb silly to get it to work again.

I've used Premiere. Pathetic program, eats too much ram, crashes too often. And Exeat is right, the interface is downright messy. I've had to switch to laptop and run on dual monitors to get any work done.

Now I'm really tempted to get a mac...

Indi, if you make any ads, or something that we may see, you have to tell all us Aussies so that we can keep an eye out for them

Personally, I hate Macs. In my experience, the general way the explorer works is not logical, the computers themsevles look horrid ( those screen/computer things that are meant to look "good" are just complete rubish IMO ) and why in blazes don't they have inbiult FDD's?

But, my opinion is fairly bias as I've only used a few Macs, and those are old, and with OS 5 or something old like that.
And, I've always used PC's.

My FDD keeps crapping out on me, mainly because some floppys that I use are kinda old. I gave up on FDDs altogether and switched to USB flash drives.

If my wacom is compatible with macs, and if PS7 and Painter8 runs faster on a mac, I really might switch... When I graduate next year and ask for a little something from my mom. Macs are uncommon here though.

It's also interesting to note how the prices of RAM increased by like 20% here after the Geforce4 came out and when "bumpmapped" games were announced... I bought 256mb 400mhz RDRAM 3 years ago for PHP4,800 and the last time I looked (a few months ago) the exact same ram (still 400mhz) costs +/- PHP5,500

is your tablet usb? it should run fine.
photoshop was originally mac and always runs faster on a mac.
if i change this processor from single 800mhz to a dual 1.25ghz one then its going to fly
painter series was mac only for a long time as well
ut2004 demo was impressive on the mac side. my g4 has a better vid card then my old pc tho.

i paid $270 AUD for 1 gig of ram p133 SDRAM ( 2x512) but i got it at wholesale prices.
