Hi everyone, it's me again... some of you may remember me from the first forums... I was the annoying idiot who said dbpro should be a free update or something stupid like that. I was way out of line, and would like to apologize to everyone.

Anywho... This is my contribution to the wonderful world of darkbasic programming. It is a new programming language called Visual Trefunge... where you program spatially in a big blue cube of fun. It is based on Befunge 93, which you can find out about at: http://www.catseye.mb.ca/esoteric/befunge/

You can download it at: http://mrdictionary.madhousedesign.org/Trefunge.zip

Any input would be very helpful and I thank you all in advance.

Well... I used to be on the old ones a lot. The old grey darkbasic ones...

Moaning about with the regulars about the boring intricacies of angluar collision. Those were the days!

Hehe...

Spatial programming is where... uh.. hard to explain...

DarkBASIC is programmed as a list of commands, right... always executed downwards, with jumps to functions and subroutines... Spatial Programs are programmed in any direction, up down, left right, in out, and the program flow can be changed at any time.

Trefunge is a language is where each command is one character big, and you program in characters in a giant cube... its hard to explain... just download it!

BTW, are you the Alex Wanuch that does (or did) the darkbasic newsletter... what happened to that?

Hehe....

It's weird stuff isnt it?

Once you know what all the commands do, you'll progam it like theres no tommorow... The bit thats gonna get you is the fact that there are no variables in Funge languages... only a FILO stack of integers... and also no distinction is made between the stack and the cells of the cube, meaning you could write weird WEIRD self modilying programs and stuff.

Hehe, thanks!

I can almost guarantee you can not find a program like this elsewhere... that might have something to do with the fact that its useless pretty much... or its too good.

Anywho, stuff I'm working on now:

Import / Export to Befunge files (2D)
A new interface.
New title screen, that one was only temporary.
Pointless but cool particle effects.

Whee. Matt, you and Ed are going on a "old and weird stuff" kick, you know? ZZT, BeFunge... and whatever happened to that text adventure editor you were gonna make?

Bwahaha, someone already made one... I think I linked to it on my site on the GAMES forum, but I'm not sure... If I find it again, I'll tell ya where it is.

Sounds weird. I'll download it. If I understand it, I'll be able to feel superior to people who understand normal code...

Oh, yeah, while we were testing Trefunge on a SmartBoard, the mouse would click, but not move. Why?
