Look a few posts below "Need Team for Shooter"

its posts like this that get us all rippin mad! I know this is a phony post, but I actually have seen posts almost as bad!

Please dont post that you need help in every area of game making! If your forming a team, there has to be something you can do! Dont try to recruit a team to make a game for you! It just doesnt work!

When posting for a team request, try and tell what areas your expertise is in, how you can help, and maybe show some of your own work! I dont know about you, but people requesting a full team, looking like they know nothing at all, is really getting me mad! Do you agree?

Please people, think before your post. There is a whole community here, please dont anger us! (its happend before and it aint pretty!)

I think that who ever wanna get a team should know exactly what kind of game he/she wants to do and exactly what ppl are needed to do what. And you also need your own area of expertice programming or art. If you have made a game before then others will be more happy to join.

Personaly I would make all programming and gamedesign myself including some art and get some extra artists. Well for now I'm happy with the tracker I got, don't need any artists for now.

Excellent point DG, I forgot to mention that! People SHOULD know what they want in means on type, gameplay, features, etc. Have it all nice and planned out!

I think we should all post up what we think could be added to the "Perfect Team Request Post" then combine it all into one! Sortof like back in first grade when the class comes up with the classroom rules

I think this forum is for people looking for teams and not for people telling what they like or not.

what make me mad , is that in every forum are always some treads off-topic and the moderators even care (just like this one)

MaxiBoy was looking for teams , even if we know that his post was sence-less.
BUT he didnt brake any rule like you did.

I agree with Rogue, and I couldnt really decipher what Dr said People do post for help, but its usually a waste of peoples time. Usually someone with big dreams and no plans, or skill.

What I think every one requesting for team members should do is post proof of production. Not come in here with just ideasa/script/designdocument/sketches but come in here backing up your ideas with models or a working prototype. Something ppl find interesting enough to help develope.

And don't ask for a big team. 1, max 2 coders and 1-3 artists depending on size of the game and the time they can work.

Well, thanks =) I've worked hard to learn myself without help (I had some help with DB though). I'm not doing everything myself, I have a tracker that makes music for me. And I had some artists helping me with CCA.

I make sketches,designs,some 3d modeling,scripting,story line editing,web design and i make teams. I think that is acceptable matirial for a gaming industry that is my position if i wanted to make a game alone i would learn these skills but i dont i want a team thats why im asking for A GOD DAMN TEAM!!!

CharacterArtist, you should just leave these forums. Im beginning to notice that you are really a n00b. There is a tradition here. DONT DISRESPECT THE F*CKING ELDERS HERE!. Van-B DG and RPG Gamer (Along with Actarus) are the elders. They know what there talking about. People dont need to post on here if they dont know what the hell there doing. What the f**K i have a team now and i know what im doing i am an author for games i also am a sketch artist as well as a full time webdesigner (www.sightscope.com) I have skills in music and have got used to World Craft 3 - Quake Engine.

I use Visual Basic and have made applications for a friend ACjoe1 (big time Visual basic) I have my own website design buisness around The West midlands in the U.K u thake this shit to seriously!!

Since when did I become an elder I dont know how the guy got a team. He had an idea and some drawing skills and got some people to make his game. Wonder how long that will last?

Dont disrespect Van-B, he is really, really good.

I am no where near as good as Van, Simple, DG, or act. These guys are really awesome. I hope I can get as good as them some day. I have progressed quite far. I know how to code most things, (as in the things needed) and I am getting better at writing that code

Well if your not an elder DG then I don't know who is!.

I think Characterartist misses the whole point of this forum. It's full of people taking a healthy approach, whether there learning to model or code, or getting feedback on their projects. This forum is invaluable to the people that use it. You clearly don't respect this forum, so your input is always tainted with that attitude of yours.

Either change it and start listening to people, or continue in this pointless manner and be prepared to feel unwelcome.

I don´t think you understand characterartist. This is NOT the gaming industry. These guys do this for fun, as their hobby. Most of them don´t earn any money from this. They have a limited time, so they don´t jump on every project that COULD someday be successful. That´s why you can´t see the new Half-life 2 or Quake 5 on these projects.

Anyone with a good english knowledge can come up with a decent story and dialogue. But to make a game you need a coder and a modeler.

You are all the time talking about how professional you are and how good you are at designing things. If you are a pro, you SHOULD know that you don´t become a lead designer/producer over a night. It takes many years of hard work to come even close. If you take this attitude you have in to the real world, to the real development studios, you´ll be showned the door. All those famous designers like Carmack, Wright and Molyneux are all in their positions because they KNOW how to make a game. They can code and model, they have done it for many years before they came into a position as a lead designer.

PS. I think you should learn how to make proper sentences and to spell, before you come here and shout.

He makes the ideas, they make the game. It really helps if you know the language, or else when your modellers make something very good for DB you might say "Nope, that model sucks"

You need to understand that DB can only handle so many polys, what can and cant me coded ETC before you come here yelling that you need a team and you dont know sh*t about the program.

Learn the program, its ins and outs, its capibilities, then request a team. You can still be a director, you should just know the language and its capibilities or youll be a sucky director.
