For anyone who remembers JetEdit, work was never stopped, was just held up do to me moving back to the states and buying a house and silly things like that included is a screenie of its current stage
uses 2 objects, auto textured using
1 detail layer
1 texture layer
and coloring on top of that for extra oomph
the screenshot is of a 5000*5000 landscape
4 textures blended by altitude and slope for main texture, 5th for detail
tiled 64*64
sunflare
scrolling clouds (hard to see in screenshot)
1000 trees randomly placed ( selectable altitude range).
at 112 FPS
however Im seriously considering holding off till the new terrain commands come out. Thinking I may be beating a dead horse here!
let me know what ya think

Wow dude great work, looks awesome and realistic. It would sure be fun to make and play a mountain biking game on that terrain. Nice!

I like the washed out colours of the mountains! If you place trees on that landscape, then they would be a similar contrast to the background. At the moment, the trees are black at the base, but there is no black in your landscape, so you need to lighten the trees until the black is dark grey.

the trees are actually in there to test the FPS, they are by no means the final product, as a matter of fact it will be up to the user to decide what object to use for trees and the like

but on that note, I do agree with you that they contrast!
