Hello all,

As you may or may not remember, just a few weeks ago I got Spyware on my computer called "DSO Exploit." Try as I may, I couldn't get rid of it -- nothing worked. I tried it all, Spybot, Ad-aware, HijackThis, CWShredder. IT STAYED ON MY SYSTEM.

Well, just tonight I was searching around for info on DSO Exploit when I found this:

http://www.nsclean.com/dsostop.html

It's called DSOStop2. Apparently what it does is temporarily fix the security hole until Microsoft releases a patch to fix Internet Explorer. Just thought I'd give this to you guys as a reference in case you ever have trouble, or are currently having trouble.

Later.
- Steve

Here's a tool that never fails-- MS-DOS. Backup, fdisk, format, reinstall Windows. Voila! Spyware gone!

That's often very inconvenient, takes a lot of time (usually a day to format, reinstall Windows and set everything up to how it used to be, then an additional day to reinstall all your old programs) and it's not hard to forget to backup something, or accidentally backup the virus itself.

U should u my strategy, its (i think) the easiest way to make it stop Every virus has a file it runs from.

BUT... be careful not to screw anything up! U should only try this if u have some knowlage of viruses (i mean like where they are located and stuff and what they do and how to disable them, etc., NOT how to make them) and some good cpu knowlage. LOL

@Skier Demon: DSO Exploit isn't a virus, nor does Norton Anti-Virus detect it. It's an Internet Explorer exploit, caused by a security whole in the browser source.
