How can i go about selling software online? I'm sure loads of you on here know, cheers people

this is a seriously vague question as there are 1000 things to consider when selling software legally online (as myself and others here could attest to)

If you have some more specific questions I would be glad to try and help.

I'd say retail through someone else's site.
They'll be able to talk you through what you need done, if it's all legally airtight, etc...

Getting this information from people who have done it and know what they're doing really helps greatly.
Everyone wins in a situation like that, as you get a percentage of a sale, the guys who sell it do, your not held liable if anything goes wrong ... plus extra traffic for that company.

It also solves the whole problem with 'self-employment retail', as registered companies get certain rights conserning retail which individuals do not.

Well i mean, i would like for people to be able to download a copy of the software, then when they are ready to buy the software, they could enter details on my website and then it would generate a code for them that they could put into the program and they could register it.

That is the basic of what i am trying to do.

Its quite easy actually, your two main options are ShareIT and PayPal. ShareIT are more geared up specifically for selling software, and they have excellent customer service. As a result they take a higher cut than PayPal, but its still very reasonable.

ShareIT provide various tools for key generators and so on.

In order to trade with them you need to have a presentable website up and running which clearly explains what your product is, what it can do, and contact information.

Well, you can sell software many ways. There is amazon: http://www.amazon.com

And ebay.. http://www.ebay.com

But you can also put a "Cart" option on a website, and when people click it they can buy a product of yours. You can see an example at the top of the page (right up there with your profile).

Oh no! Chrissy had used her powers to turn herself into a hideous man-eating giant!
