firstly, STOP DOWNLOADING WAREZ. cause $50 says you go it being on sites or downloading something you should've have.
secondly, if you have a dynamic ip (dial-up) then this guy has a trojan on your system scanning it for your current IP; use something to find it and destroy it. (Spy Sweeper/Norton AV are very good at this)
if however your on a static/lease ip (broadband) then tell Windows to release/repair your connection. It'll drop your current IP and get a new lease making your old IP invalid.

thirdly, get Norton Internet Security; when you get an incommming IP you don't recognise REPORT IT. Let the police handle them.

it is all common sense stuff really. quit bothing us about your problems which i'm pretty sure are your own fault anyways.

Why must people do that? Hackers should use their programming skills for something for the good of other people, not try to see how many computers they can crash in a week or whatever. People enjoy the suffering of others.

see the problem with this is I could like to feel pain, so therefore I should give you pain.

it should be...

Jesus only said that cause he wanted the guy the buy him a beer. Made him sound intellectual and it tricks someone into thinking that you've done them a service so they owe you something in return.

...

And what CR says is now bothering me: how the hell can you have a DDOS on a personal system?!

btw just because i'm christian doesn't mean i have to call him my lord/saviour or anything like that... I am not subserviant to Jesus, not Jehova; and if the bibles teaching are to be believed, I shouldn't have to be either.

Without out hackers, we couldn't identify flaws with software, or OS's. So before you make accusations that hackers are a bad thing... you might want to think of all the good stuff that they do (you know all those software security updates, are created because hackers identify flaws or backdoors.).

yeah but there is a right and a wrong way to go about it.
honourable hackers report thier findings, dishonourable ones use these flaws purely for personal gain.

Explain your point; because I very much doubt you could run anyone through with a (bad) CG sword. I also doubt you've ever been close enough to one to know what it would feel like being cut down to the bone with one, painful but only after the fact. It stings more before you understand how much damage has really happened; soemthing rust and not a clean weapon made for fighting probably would hurt alot as the wound would be messy and hard to take the sword from.

/me slaps anti hate around a bit with a large trout

Buddy, don't bring religion into these threads. It only starts flamewars. You should also understand that not everyone you meet is under the same religious beliefs. You should also understand that some people don't believe in god as well. So essentially, here (where several religious groups, and non religious people are mixed) religious talk is pretty much frowned upon. And dont insult me or try to convert me to some religion. I've found mine, I'm Christian.

Now lets get back onto the topic at hand, k?

/me slaps Skier Demon around a bit with a large trout

Figure it out on your own k? My suggestions would be:

A) Never connect to the internet with that computer again. Ever.
B) Back up your important files, and format your hard drive. That should get rid of everything thats giving you a good IP spying. Then, before you reconnect to anything on the internet, install as many firewalls and antiviris/antispyware/antiadware programs as you can.
C) Take a magnet to your hard drive. A big one, and watch in amazement as your monitor displays pretty colors. Then, watch as your problems go away until you've saved up the money for a new computer

Cheers,
Preston

I very much doubt you are being hit by a DDoS attack. As from what I'm aware you do not run a major website/service & I also doubt you would be able to see one with the equipment/software you have.

You are most probably being hit with viruses that are trying to attack the RPC port. Most of our firewalls are hit around 3-5 times per/sec with these. You may also be hit with the occasional port scanner & web bot/spider.

The best way to secure yourself against these possible attacks is to install a NAT based router if your running either DSL or ISDN (Basically nothing can get back in through the way it operates).

There is also a small chance that you may have a virus that allows access to your computer and opens up an outbound port that then allows access back in again (normally to open the pc up as an open mail server).

If you are convined someone is targetting you need a record of the following for each attack:
1. Time of packets
2. Source IP address
3. Port Number

The port number will allow you determine what type of possible attack it is.

If you then decide to take further action you can find who/where the packets are coming from by looking at the various IP address assignment authorities.

You can then contact the relevant company/ISP/backbone provider with the time & port details and ask for action to be taken.

As an example here is a trace I did on the IP addresses when the forums where hit:

But those security flaws would be meaningless if there were no hackers to exploit them. There's circular logic for ya, heh.

Skier Demon, you said in your other thread that you're never going to ask us for help again because we're useless. Well, you're right. As a bunch of computer nerds, we at the game creators' forums sure as hell don't know anything at all about computers.

So, seek a "professional" -- it's like I said, we obviously CAN'T help you.

@Skier Demon

The person who "hacked" your PC may well be someone you know, why? Because they will find it really funny when you start ranting and raving about hacking them, and making phoney threats to go to the police (lets face it - you have nothing on your PC worth stealing, why would the Police waste time doing anything?)

This person probably just guessed your password or secret question - no real hacking involved.

If you are on broadband, and have an IP address that does not change, then once your "hacker" has found it, he can keep going into it as much as he likes.

In addition, it is possible that your firewalls are not set up properly, double check them.

And no, im not lying aobut all this. Plz dont be so mad at me. All i wanted was a little help if possable. Thanks aywayz... owell, guess everyone thinks im stupid : (

Hackers are good guys, ie. working for banks finding flaws.

Crackers however are the ones who do the illegal stuff.
