Honest answer, it's a good start. But, you'll have to move up from slapping basic geometric shapes together before they'll become models that other people will want to use. You might want to grab a book on character design such as the one written by Paul Stead.

A lot of modellers will use less polygons and rely on textures to add detail.

...you like to use primitives a lot and dont like texturing do you?
Well suprasingly result is not that bad, I like it in a way.

It's ok, but I wouldn't use it in a proffesional game. Kinda cartoony.

You should start by figuring out how to move vertice(points) around and shape up that ol'Samus.

Also,if you want help,you need to state the 3D application that you use(LW?)

I use Gamespace. I tried to use anim8or and Milkshape but I not that good with those.

I've never get to try gamespace that much, but im perfectly fine with starting out with Wings 3D because anim8or is not quite what im looking for. That was a good start for a 3D model. I'm still making a 3d model too. Happens to be my own creation. He used to look like megaman now he's been redesigned. i hope to finish him soon.
