The program available at the link on the page that I linked to contains the Easter Egg.

I think it is a first of its kind Easter Egg. When (if) you see it, you'll know what I mean.

If someone else has ever done what I did before I did what I did, I'd be surprised. I really shouldn't say anything else until it's discovered and posted.

DarkRider no ploy, it's just information that you can use or ignore.

There was a strange egg that Mattman discovered a while ago something to do with the mouse pointer in DBC changing in the Help. Only a few people could get it to work though

LOL! I found the 3D egg and posted up above. I took it off my website yonks ago when this thread died.

It was nothing to do with DBPro, it was in heartbone's tank game and you get it by either pressing some combination of keys in his game, or by looking in your temp directory when playing the game and you will find the source code of a little code snippet that simply draws an egg.

Now can this thread please R.I.P.

Boo!

I was talking about Pricey's post where the cursour changed in the DBC Help, that sounds like a bug, not an egg.

the real easter egg is ghosting that does what it says on the tin,
makes an object see through regardless of it's depth or whatever. Some day in the distant future the ghosting command may actually work as it does in classic.

if anyone finds this easter egg, please tell me so as i can dance a jig.

regards geecee3.

If you mean not drawing backfaces, can't you just set culling on ?

I'm refering to the ghosting of a large amount of objects that may various distances from the camera. some of the objects seem to change their state from ghosting to non ghosting to dissapearing. or stacking a load of transparent plains on top of each other and some of them not being drawn, things like that. from what i can gather it's got something to do with z sorting or depth sorting.

depending on the distance from the camera some objects revert from their ghosted state to solid. It can make for some cool effects if played around with, but it's not doing what i want. and taht is quite simply:

if i use the command : ghost object on _obj,X on every object in a demo for instance. some of the objects will indeed be ghosted, but some will not. and if the scene is dynamic with lots of moving ghosted objects the state of some of these objects will change and obscure whats behind.

that's what i'd like fixed.

regards, geecee3.

Those 3 commands only work in the original version of DarkBASIC, DBP, on the other hand, only has the 'Make Game' command.

In any case, it's hardly worth reviving a month old thread for something like that.

The ETC DB egg can be found while playing the game if one swaps to the alternate view and changes the viewpoint to within the displayed egg.

Because it was there? Because I found out about that by reading this thread and tried it while reading this thread? Because everybody who posts to this thread is also bumping it up?

Oh, by the way, 'malcombamber' didn't work.
