DON`T get it, expansion slot/io interfaces say nothing about AGP ports, this is one of those "all on the mobo" things that you will find virtualy impossible to expand, the only way you can a decent framerate with that is to find a PCI graphics card, even then you may find that you can`t turn off the onboard graphics from the BIOS, and Intel Extreme are just a 2D card that thinks it might like to have 3D capability, not good, why not build your own pc with the parts you have and a new MOBO?.

PC1: P4 hyperthreading 3ghz, 1gig mem, 2x160gig hd`s, Nvidia FX5900 gfx, 6 way surround sound, PC2: AMD 1.2ghz, 512mb ram, FX5200 ultra gfx, stereo 16 bit soundblaster.

well it's better to use AGP for graffix cards than PCI, simply cos thats what it's designed for.

why dont you have a go at orderring your own parts and building it yourself?

the parts for my pc in my sig below cos £490 (w/out postage and packaging) from ebuyer + £30 for tools.

now if it was Dell, then maybe about £700?

building pc's arnt hard and theres plenty of support on the internet, it isnt as dangerous/risky as people make out, it seems i could have dropped a brick on my motherboard and it'd still be fine.

That HP is beyond sh*t.... go somewhere else



Well i am ordering some of the parts for my new PC starting tonight (hell, i finally bothered to get a good paying job).

The x800 gets ordered tonight (unless i have a 400$ lunch ), and the MOBO and Processer (ASUS P4P800 Motherboard, and Intel Pentium 4 3 GHz CPU) get ordered friday as it is payday.

As for the rest of it, that will be decided soon enough.


[edit]Hahahah, i was just looking at the prices.... the x800(256mb XT) will cost more then the CPU and Mobo combined...

[Edit2] It's been bought a bit early (i checked my account and noticed it was a little heavy), it'll be a few days as i don't wanna pay shipping (thats where they get you, shipping).

Still gotta get MOBO and CPU though.... but can't till friday.

an FX PCI will make a difference, but not anywhere near as much as a AGP card (naturaly), it should still be a good bit faster than the Intel chipset anyway, and more capable, I was surprised they bother to make FX cards in PCI format, I would have thought PCI machines had died the death years ago, you still need to check you can turn the onboard graphics off from the bios (or switch to PCI graphics) some MOBO makers don`t have the option in the settings so you would be wasting money if you bought one and then found it wouldn`t run cos the intel GFX wouldn`t go away.

PS: talking fast cards... have you seen those SLI PCI Express NV40 cards on the Nvidia website?, TWO NV40s working together
