Hey,
how you all doin' there? I just joined because I like the General discussion threads. I surfed in and decided to stay.

Hope you all aren't thrown off over the fact I'm American. Has me a bit worried with the way we get bad rapped these days. If it makes you feel better, my roots are from England.
I like Raven Vegeta's icon-Vegeta rocks, and he is the best and the least understood of the DBZ gang. DB and DBZ are my faves.

I'm 39, and as a child of the 80's, I still walk around dressed like I belong in Judas Priest LOL. I play PC games, and Soldier Of Fortune 1 and 2 and Ghost Recon are my current loves. I still listen to old Metallica, Megadeth, and any retro hard rock I can lay my ears on.

Big PC gamer, collects toys and figures, and builds horror\sci-fi monster kits (resin and vinyl). Well, hope to hear from all of you here, I'm off top boost my posties, so see you later. Golgo13

Welcome to the community Golgo .

Don't worry about where your from, there's a vast range of different backgrounds here, in fact there are several Americans here. It's nice to have a few countrymen around, I'm from Scotland, which is tiny - yet I know at least 3 other Scottish members.

I think you'll find a lot of like-minded folk here, a lot of us are into sci-fi. I collect weird toys, like a Timmy doll from southpark, complete with wheelchair, an Ozzy head that shout for Sharon when you smack it, a KoRn doll, stuff like that - the woman has most of the Buffy figures, some of the work on them are great, really good likenesses.

Thanks man!
Just wanted to make sure it was OK-being one who witnessed the aftermath of the WTC attack last year, it hit me that people of EVERY nationality were in the buildings, and that we are, after all, really human regardless where we come from. And we have to stand and fight these people who would try to stop us from uniting.

I have Scotch in my veins too, brother, in more ways than one

But yeah, I collect stuff-I have a huge model collection, a lot of figures (Godzilla and Ultraman stuff rule) and I am currently awaiting a shipment of the uncut Barbara Steele horror classic 'Nightmare castle' on DVD. So much stuff to collect. Kudos on the Buffy figures they are really neat

I like MacFarlane's 'Sea Beast', that crocodile looking thing with all the fins on it. I'd like to see Steve Irwin catch THIS one......

Welcome also

I collect Videogame charcter models, like Square, SNK, Sega. I also collect the buffy figures, Star Wars original toys, and (possibly) sadly I have a thing about Pokemon too

I'm more a comic book guy, mainly Marvel. Haven't seen too much Manga/anime I'm afraid, so I haven't answered your other posts, but I do love the graphic style. I like TV shows I've seen like GunDamWing and DragonBallZ tho they're pretty damn cool.

I know its a kids show, but I like Card Captures as well. Sakuras kinda cute... MMMmmm Japnese schoolgirls lol

MacFarlane rocks, Spawn is about the only manga-style series I watch. I like DBZ, but the boy's not into it anymore, so I have no excuse to watch it :.

I don't find spawn to be manga-like that much but it IS good.

I used to love Mcfarlane's works especially when Amazing Spiderman 299-300 ,Hulk 341(vs Wolverine)and the new Spiderman series(199*).

Anyways welcome.

Have you seen the video for 'Freak on a Leash'?, that was by him, and it totally rocks, probably my favourite music video. Even people who hate nu-metal love that video.

Yeah, a couple of years old now - it has a bullet flying through a little town, destroying aerosols and nearly hitting people . There's cartoon parts at the start and end, with a little blonde girl and her pals getting chased by a security guard.

ya know... i would be a little worried about someone who still dress'd like that

think whats funny about DBZ is it the American company Funimation that took it from being like an adults show to a kiddie thing for Cartoon Network. Ho well eh
anyone who really wants to understand Vegeta need to watch the series from the Namek saga to the Majin Buu (skip the non Garlik Jnr Saga, is really a movie heavily cut at that) ... Vegeta progress's to his true nature throughout pretty sweet - especially when he dies to save everyone
pitty it didn't work, but certainly something that complicates who he is

I gotta admit to watchin' Salior Moon, something about that show like a car wreck - you want to turn away, but have an urge to just keep looking.
I liked Card Captors ... kinda like LA Blue for the kiddies never saw much of it thou.
Prefer Yu-Gi-Oh, pretty cool that one - DB|DBZ|DBGT (but thats a no brianer)
Never really liked Gundamn's just like Macross, dunno about them really. Personal Favourites have to be Dominon Tank Police, Evagelion and Nadesco

ya know i've noticed since being back that this new channel CNX my bro's been crazy about does manga and animé at nite

(^_^) ya know most guys here i kinda think are just big kids hehee ... especially after a post like this

kinda baffles me the obscessions that americans have with accents... like all of them "ohh i love this accent" and when you say to them about theirs they're like "don't be silly we don't have accents not like"

So ya know its like... Ermoki then
Came to a conclusion yesterday after talkin' to firstly the Vulcanus Crew then puffy about the Americans - probably best not to share but was amusing

Yeah Raven V, I get looks when I dress like that.
Like when me and my nearly 40 something friends went to the premiere of Rock Star-all the jealous husbands and insecure boyfriends were once again letting us know in no uncertain terms that their manhood was threatened-the usual jokes- 'hey got any drugs', 'you look like my sister', and a bunch of college age kids tied to start with us.
The police came up and told US to not make any trouble while little Johnnie and his college buddies acted like victims. Screw em'. It's no secret that rockers got more girls that anyone else, because we had one thing girls an relate to-HAIR, and free wheeling spirits. Despite the myths about long haired men, my frends and I have NEVER done ANY kind of drugs, nor have we ever started any fights (although some times we had to defend oursleves when all the preppie college kids and the dance ravers saw us walking into the clubs on Friday night).

It's sad, because it's Constitutionally protected to preachhate and wear swastika tattoos and scream hat at white rallies, but yet everyone sees a man with long hair and they're like....'Die Commie scum' What's worse, walking down the street with long hair, or killing someone you don't know just because of the way they look We all bleed the same, and as long as we keep picking on each other for petty shit like this, I guess we WILL keep on bleeding

As far as the accent thing that CD On CD brings up, I have to admit I like it too-my mother is friends with this beautiful woman from Ireland, and I could just sit and listen to her for hours..and I think the lady knows I like her too. She's in her mid 40's with 3 kids and she looks fabulous. Single too....

Here in America, mature women are becoming a big thing, and they are called MILF's or Mothers I'd Like To...uh, YOU fill in the last word

lol ... yeah i've seen the site, my brother somehow has me on the mailing list and i can't find the unsubscribe - i tried once ... but somehow i got 2more emails a week.

i'm not against the accents - i mean some are lovely to listen to (^_^) but like in the states everyone makes such a big deal about them ... was cute at first but like after a few month you think "HEY BACK OFF its just a freakin' voice!"

Not sure about the states cause where i live, not actually all that many guys who have long hair - too bloody hot for it frankly
However back in the UK, peeps who dress'd like you are like the Folkies - kinda into that whole Folk Music scene, my moms fault blame her
But like seein' guys who dress in just truely aweful clothes is second nature ... in fact put a beer in one of your hands - doubt i could tell the differece hehee

Usually a good atmosphere around Folk events too, alot of drunkeness, music and dancin' - i mean i could say similar to like a Barn Dance thing, but really ... they're not alot alike cause Folk events are pretty cool. And the music isn't so "twangy"

I have heard loadsa people (websites especially) using then explaining the experssion MILF, strange, because I was under the Impression that EVERYBODY had seen American Pie

Vegeta Don't worry my Dad ran a Folk Club, and I always enjoyed it - I knew it was "sad" but who cares its fun and celebrating traditions and cultures

I used to have hair to my shoulders, and the girls did seem to like it Ironically tho since starting to really listen to rock, metal, punk and progressive music I have cut it shorter, and actually now have it bic-shaved! Nothing to do with the music really, just got tired of the upkeep :p

ya Folk music is kinda sad, but eerily addictive
sides it so... so... British

never been able to have that long hair'd hippie look, kinda always stops - so i gave up trying. It is nuts though the girls love my hair, even thou to me it just lookes like a true mess :: looks confused :: i guess they're just weird.

Hehee i'm probably about the only person who hasn't seen that American Pie 1 or 2 movies ... dunno someone about someone doin' something to my favourite food - just didn't seem RIGHT

lol There's noneof that in the 2nd one, just an "amusing" incident with a porn movie, superglue and some1s penis. Oh - nice Lesbians and Alyson Hannigan tho. Just don't watch it if you play the trumpet - it ends up somewhere less pleasant. Dear Jeeeeeem lol

Oh yes, American Pie-here in the America we also call MILF's "soccer moms' too-middle aged women that have one or 2 kids on a school sports team, and who are usually under-sexed and divorced. And man I wish I was that kid in American Pie, because that was one M.I.L.F.!!!

I've been to a few of the folk festivals too and one time I was at one where I was looking for my hoe in the barn (and not the kind you dig with)

You're right about the upkeep with long hair though Kang, but it has it's rewards. One chick I used to date used to wash it for me almost every day. That was nice, and I used to do things for her in return too
I may be getting a bit flamboyant here, but I love women, and being I'm a guy, I'm sure many would worry about me if I didn't......
