3 Dimensional Chat / problems texturing object

hi all,

i have made a model in 3ds and exported it into a .x format, although texturing the model with any texture does not work, as the model remains black, is there anything i'm missing,

is the image you used to texture it in the same directory as the object file?

hi BarCoder, yeh it is, its very strange as i have never had trouble texturing .x models before, i'll have to try making the model again, something must have gone wrong when creating it into a .x, although the model looks exactly as it shud it just won't allow u to texture it lol

i heard that before you create the .x file you need to wrap the texture on the object in 3ds max so the .x had all the uv points (or something similar), so when a texture is applied in db, it knows where to apply the texture to the object, does anyone know how to do this like in step by step format,

such as click edit, then do this etc, would be a great help, cheers everyone
