Hello folks, as the DarkTopia(DB 3D Chat team) move forward, I bring you two challenges and moreless opputunities to display your skills.
Challenge #1: Banners, Billboards, and Glamour.
The Competition: Make any 200x150 pixel or 300x200 pixel image to be shown in the DB 3D chat.
The Rules:
-The image most be 100% created by you.
No Exceptions
-The image can be in any image format you like, though I prefer .bmp if possible.
-You must post your image in this post, or a link to your image in order for it to be entered.
-You must have no problem with us putting the image in the DB 3D
-Your entry can be of your latest hit game coming out, your team website, a cool graphic, a mini comic strip ,or just about anything.
Why?: Have a new hit game coming out? Wanna advertise your website? Maybe you just love to make cool graphic designs. It's an oppurtunity to get your work shown in the DB 3D chat.
Judges: The Lead members of the DB 3D chat team will pick the ones we like and feel approprite for the DarkTOPIA area. We'll recognize you if you put a lot of time and effort into your banner. (Heck, if only ten people enter, there's a good chance you'll get your work shown anyway.)
Deadline: Not set. We'll be taking entries as long as we'd like to.
Challenge #2: 3D Models
As mentioned in the other 3D chat topic, you'll be able to submit a model for use in the DarkTOPIA world.
The Rules:
- 1,000 polygon limit
- 512x512 texture map (256x256 texture size preferred. We may reduce the uv map if we feel little quality will be lost.)
- 330 total frames of animation.
0-60 Walk
61-90 Sit(in chair sitting position)
91-120 Getup (From chair sitting position)
121-150 Shake Hand
151-180 Wave
181-210 Idle
211-270 Make your own custom animation
271-330 Make another of your own custom animation
- Model must be posted in .x format. Texture can be posted in any format, but .bmp is preferred.
- Only models posted here with a link will be entered into the DB 3D Chat.
- The model must be 100% yours.
- You must not have any problem with us putting the model in the DB 3D chat.
Why?: Get your work shown off in the DarkTOPIA world. Brag that you made an awesome model. This is also your chance to make your own unique character for
you!
Judges: The Lead members of the DarkTOPIA team will pick the ones we like and feel approprite for the DarkTOPIA area. We'll recognize the models that have time put into them, and adhere to the rules. At launch, I expect we'll have about 15 different avatars, so the majority will be from here! (more avatars will become availiable, but we want to keep as small a filesize as possible during release.)

And before you tell me: "Why not have your own character creation system?" Well, I'm working on it.
