What type of game is it? Real time strategy, jump 'n' run, first person shooter? Just curious...

First, get practice programming by going through the tutorials included with Dark Basic. Make sure you understand all of the basic commands, then it is time to create your own game. There are many possibilities for a first game: pong, frogger, etc... I can help you if you have any specific questions. After completing your first game, you can begin creating your dream game. Just remember to start small. Get solid control working before working on outstanding special effects.

Good Luck, let me know if you have any specific questions about Dark Basic or anything related.

Also...this post should be in the Dark Basic or Newcomers forum...not the 3D forum

There are several directions you can head in. Bolt has mentioned the programmer path. You can also develop the 2D graphics/3D models and seek out a programmer to work with in the team request board. I strongly suggest writing a game design treament. That will help you to focus on the game idea as well as determine what resources are needed. You can find a lot of programmers, but fewer artists and (serious) game designers. My advice is to try all three paths and see what you like.

Here's what you want to do. Take your idea, write it down in detail. Then, put it away for awhile. It's probably too complicated for you at this point. Start off with something that's been done already. Something where you'll be able to find source to reference. Like a pong game or something.

I'm not trying to be difficult or smother your idea. If you make something like pong, you'll learn alot of things that you'll probably end up using in your concept project. Plus, if you get stuck there's always those other programs to reference from the code vault. You'll also be able to ask for assistance since everyone know's what a pong game is and how it should behave.

After you've become more comfortable with the new techniques that you've learned through completing several small projects, you can start to work on your concept project. Don't try and do the whole thing at once. Break it up into routines. I've seen lots of programs that do everything in the main loop, which depending on the complexity of the program can be a huge crutch...and require you to go back and rework your entire source. That's never fun.

Hands down the funniest synopsis for a game ever. All your base are belong to us!
