I want to install it, but I've heard DX SDKs screw up things on your comp. Anyone know what, and how to avoid that?

If you download it simply don't install the Runtime
If you download for a specific language you have to download the runtimes seperate anyways... and for this version the debug seems' to have been taken out rather than when Dx9 was still Dx8.2

This might not sound like a Big improvement...
But I ran some of the updated demo's

Stencil Shadow Buffer - Now I have both DirectX8.1's and DirectX9.0's

640x480x16bpp Fullscreen Rasterised | 38-42fps
1280x960x16bpp Fullscreen Rasertised | 40-46fps

Impressed really isn't the word, especially as this is on my Laptop
Celeron 600Mhz | GeForce2 Go! 32Mb | 128Mb Ram | WinXP Pro

i'm quite impressed with the speed enhancements, i'm aware not all of this is Dx as i've recently installed Omega nVidia which improved some speed (^_^)

oh... well I'm downloading the 222mb English version... I think. I'll make sure not to install the run-times though
