Was wondering if you create a 3D game will it automatically detect a computer's graphics hardware or do you need to tell it to check?

Just that I made a pretty simple 3D scene and a mate with 650mhz Vodoo 5 was getting really crappy frame rates and I really could see no reason why with such a simple scene unless it was doing some kind of software rendering.

DBPro uses nothing cept Graphics Cards Hardware, if it can't detect Transform and Lighting Hardware (something that the Voodoo5 actually lacks) it'll use Software TnL.
This maybe the cause of the slow framerates ... but it is unusual to actuall hear of Pro suffering from them.
