Hey guys,
I'm using gamespace to model, it exports static models to .x perfectly in DBC. However, when I animate them and export it tells me there is no animation data. I've spent the last couple days fiddling around with export settings and swapping formats around in 3d Exploration, but sadly to no avail.

Has anybody else using gameSpace experienced this problem?

Had the same problem with Truespace 5.2. Caligari just can't get that .x format right, or they just haven't updated it with DX9.0b.

With TS5.2 we can just use the TrueX plug-in to solve our problems, but there are a few other precautions to take.

1.) If you made your model from many pieces, do not glue them together! Use the object combine tool. For some reason the model data doesn't export correctly if it hasn't fully been merged.

2.) Check your DX export settings. Not much I can help you with here as I don't have GS, you'll just have to mess with the settings.

If nothing, post on the GS forums and see if anyone else is having the same problem or a plug-in has been made.

I'm guessing/?hoping? that TrueX is the same as TSX Bones to Vertex.
Thanks for the info Mike, I'm checking gameSpace for the object combine tool.
Looks like it's back to checking/unchecking many boxes as well.

Eureka!
Alrighty, there's no object combine tool in gameSpace, but if you just select all object in the scene, and when exporting uncheck Asci Text, and uncheck Store Object as a single mesh then it will animate perfectly and you can mess with all the other export settings to your heart's content.

I finally got the darn thing to animate.

Turns out since TSX Bones to Vertex runs automatically or something like that when you export to .x you don't need to worry about that.

Also when you export make sure the Asci Text box is unchecked, make sure the Store Object as a Single Mesh box is unechecked, and instead of gluing objects together just use the named selection tool to easily select everything then hit the export.

Other than that you can mess around with the other export options to your heart's content.

This is tested for an untextured, simply animated scene with two objects without any bones, and loaded into DarkBasic Classic v1.13 Enhanced.
