This question is directed to any 3d modelers/texturers who use any highend 3d programs.

I'm working on a remake of an old NES game called StarTropics. My goal is to remake the dungeon puzzles in full 3d. I use Maya to for creating my 3d models.

My question is this: Is there a way to import models with shader effects (such as glows and transparencies) into a db application? If I modeled a complete level with lights and everything in place, is this transferable or do I have to place my lighting using the DB light system?

If anyone can answer this please let me know.

thanks

You'll have to do it with DB's light system (unless Maya exports lightmaps, then its really not required if you did the lighting with a lightmap).

Cheers,
Preston
