hi again

i've eventually got somewhere with my game. now the tricky part

i know roughly how to delete an object. but whats getting me is deleting them when they leave the screen to keep the frame rate high.

i'm doing it in 3D using DBPro so i know it don't use pixel co-ordinates.

can some1 plz give us an idea on how to do it. i don't want code for it, just a few hints. this 1 i wan't to work out on my own.

Run this command in a loop for each object. When it is no longer visible then delete it. (BTW, this post should have been in the new comer or DBP boards as the 3D chat board is related to 3D modelling and not programming for the most part.)

TAZ

OBJECT IN SCREEN
This command will return a value of one if the specified 3D object is wholly or partly visible within the screen borders, otherwise zero is returned. Even if the object is behind the camera, its overall size may partially clip the screen area. The parameter should be specified using an integer value.

SYNTAX
Return Integer=OBJECT IN SCREEN(Object Number)

thanx for that.

and anyway i have kind of posted it in the right place

this is what it says on the forum description

Quote: "For everything about creating, modifying and using 3D models in your own games this is the forum to read."

if u read the end of it u'll notice that it says using 3D models in your own games

and since i'm using 3D models it is in the right place.

and yes i could of put it in the new commers section but not many ppl know 3D as they do 2D

anyway thank for the help and i'll give it a shot
