My, you did get excited.
There are lots of fish from Brazil. The snake fish, for example: Cool looking but I'll never find one around here. The puffer is nice too. As I said, the rarer fish all get exported, and we don't get to buy any.
The link you posted sends me to some other site.

Congratulations on the thread.
Hehe, I searched for Brazil and I get the same 5 or so fish repeated for 4 pages. I'll try to find a few others at another site. Piranhas!

Discus fish (the only ones I find are the boring brown ones):

thankyou

Isn't 49.99 a little expensive for a fish (talkn about the discuss)?
I don't even have that kind of money, but I'd love to have a neat little Discuss fish

theres lots of fish sites out there heres one of my favorites:
http://www.loaches.com
Its all about loaches, I like the Clown Loaches myself..

Last night one of my Neons laid eggs.... but when I woke up she was eating them and I had a breeder tank to put the eggs in too...
oh well theres always next time

Don't worry, I'm not a 60 year old sicko.

49.99 can be alot, but I've noticed that most web sites tend to sell
fish over-priced. My shark, for example, cost me around 1 dollar, yet
websites I've seen are selling them at $6 to $9 plus shipping. I also
bought two large (well, as large as they get) guppies for $1 (the pair),
while sites sell them at $4 each.
I saw a large albino oranda for +/- $80.
I spoke to the girl that bought it, she said it died two days later.

The thing about the 60-year old was a joke

Live Aquaria is kinda good because if you buy for example
3 assorted Swordtails a discount applies but I must agree most websites over charge
My uncle even over charges sometimes like he had a few Australian Rainbow fish for $10 a peice but
he gives me extra fish once in a great
while like on my birthday or if he was just feeling nice he makes me buy most of my fish like the 12 neons (only 9 now)
or my Corycat but he does give me deals and doesn't lie to
my face like some fish store owners do

I don't have any fish or fish tanks. But, my old landlord did. Once, when he and his wife were away for two weeks, they entrusted me with the task of feeding the fish in his tropical tank. It was very important as he spent a lot of time and money getting everything balanced etc. Whatever. No problems I said. Anyways, one and half weeks later of sitting around in my pants, and drinking lots of alcohol, I realised I hadn't fed the fish. Hmmm. I checked out the fish and they all looked fine! So much for regular feeding. So I chucked in a load of food to last them till the end of the week. They didn't half scramble I tell you. Then I noticed that one of fish looked a little thin, and was lying on his side. Hmmm. Was actually really thin because half of it's body had been eaten. Ummmm. Got a bit woried for a while about having to fish it out, but I needn't have stressed as the other fish finished him off, then his skeleton seemed to rot away until there seemed no evidence. My landlord couldn't remember (is a little old) how many fish he had either, so apart from a little puzzled looks from him, and much innocent "dunno"'s from me, I pretty much got off the hook. Arf.

His fault though; if you had seen me at the time you wouldn't have trusted your wellington boot, let alone prized pets.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

That's ok. My computer is in a box right now. The only reason I'm online is that I'm on my dad's PC.

Hey I have a 2 fish tanks as well. One small n one quite big 1. Just got all kinda gold fishes in them n 2 angel fishes which we got just today. This new addition was added to compensate the loss of 9 of my gold fishes. They died this tuesday. When we were on holiday the tank was left in the charge of my maid. She didnt feed them one evening. N my grand dad in an effort to save power switched off the oxy supply by mistake. When I came home tues mornin I foud my favourite fishes dead. Had 4 of them for almost 4 years now. Really miss them a lot. Had 2 nice big fat Black Moor Gold n a normal gold. They jump up each time I go near the tank to feed them. Now the tank looks almost empty without them. We did get replacements today about 12 more fishes including the 2 new angels. Well they do become as dear to you as a dog or a cat would.

Hey any1s got a tank cleaner fish?

@Dark Padawan: Move them into a smaller aquarium and put 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per liter. Neon Tetras die easily, I'll never spend a single penny on them after I lost 10 neons. Do they have any deformations or do they just swim funny?

I have a CoryCat, which doesn't clean as much as a pleco. I've had lot's of plecos, which also died without saying goodbye. If you want to get one, I recomend a small (less than 2 inches) one. Larger plecos hide behind whatever they find and don't clean anything. I also have 4 snails which do some cleaning. I'm thinking of getting a red crayfish. I'm a little worried that a crayfish could be too agressive for my goldfish, but if that's the case, I could put him with my Tilapia. If they don't stop fighting, I could always make soup.

TK: They seem to swim in place sometimes but I thought it was normal 2 that died were covered in a clear slime and you could see all of there organs and the other 5 that died were found floating colorless, thus now I have 5 lonely neons and one does not look to good I'll try the salt thing

If they all die I'm never spending a penny on neons again either
