Handling multiple data fields into a file using DBV1?

in QB, I used:
Type This
Data1 as String * 12
Data2 as Integer
END TYPE
to hold a single set of records to a file.

p.s. its a big pain just to only store a single array to one file. You don't just only need score but name too.

How about reading in a line, and (treating it as a CSV), search for, say, commas.

Once a section has been found, copy it into the required variable.

I dont have one for that i'm afraid - however this pseudo-style code might help :

one$=read byte
while not end of line
a$=""
while one$<>","
a$=a$+one
endwhile
rem a$ will now contain everything up to the comma
endwhile
