This is a model I started this morning, its taken about 5-6 hours to get to this point...Still lots to do on the skin, just laying in the basic black lines and defining stuff at the moment etc...

it'll also have several interchangeable heads

It's very stylish. Maybe you can try and make something coming out of the back of his head, and connect it to his suit. So that there's somesort of connection between his armour and brain, and the armour moves with the brain :p

I can't help but notice you seem to be churnin' out the models lately, Psionic. What's with all the spare time all of a sudden?

Very, very professional stuff. I can sorta model, but I'm still amazed by the texturing work you do there; My 2d art skills are on par with the programming skills of people who ask for "teh cod3z". (ie not very good at all).

Amazing work Psionic, you've still got me green with envy with those models, especially the textures. Like adr said above, same case with me, I can sorta model, but my texturing is horrible (it could also be my UV Mapping jobs too ).

Glad you started posting your work here, hadn't had any high quality stuff like this in a long time.

Cheers,
Preston

*sniff* showoff (j/k)

Seriously though, extremely nice model, just out of interest what programs it modelled in? Judging by the blue background on the second pic I'd guess MilkShape but I ain't sure.

Most photoshop tutorials can however, be ported into other progs like Paintshop Pro. I learned most of painthop using photoshop tutorials xD You just have to learn which commands have a different name in each program, and what steps you have to take in PSP to get a PS command

EG. Drop Shadow 2, 2 then again -2,-2 in paintshop pro gives the photoshop 'glow' effect.

So no one complaining 'oooh but i dont have photoshop so I cant use the tutorial'

Theres a lot of tutorials on the web that cover the stuff Psionic did in creating the texture of his model, you just have to look around a bit. There are tons of ways to achieve certain effects, its doing them to precision like Psionic does that makes them look amazing

Psionic - Do you have average rates? EG. 1 Human Model Costs X, One Human Texture costs X, or do you just have people come to you then you give them an estimate? I heard you offer your services for a good deal, just wondering what the ballpark pricerange is

Keep up the amazing work

RPGamer

PS - Earning Brents respect twice (one in each thread ) is 2 more times then the average forum member, and one more time then the really talented forum members
