When you mean distorted, do you mean imploded? If so, save your .X model as triangles instead of quad polygons.

i think hes refering to the mip mapping,

well if you put your gun at that distance the mip mapping will downgrade the texture size if you position it in the same position as you did in deled im sure there wouldent be much difference

You'd be better off posting a screenie from Darkbasic as well, it could be a few things.

You have to triangulate the model in DeleD before exporting it to .x, just like zircher said. That should solve the problem. Seems that DB can't handle multisided polys?

It seems that it is not being textured properly so that may also be a problem. But that picture is not very clear (at least to me it isn't ), can you post some more pictures of the gun in DB?

Weird problem! It's either the DeleD export or DB screwing up. Can you send me the .dmf and/or .x file so i can test it in DeleD? And maybe someone else can try to load it in DB too to see what you get then. Also, have you tried exporting all textures from DeleD? Seems that the gun doesn't use the right textures.

I export the textures but a few of them show up missing, and then when I position and lock the gun in place...it gets distorted.

Same here I can't see the picture. I have had trouble with parts of my models going transparent if my game was in 32 bit depth with my desktop color depth set to 16. Models also look alot better if you use .dds textures. They don't seem to blur as bad.
