Hi all,
See I'm a human, and I'd hate to think a computer could outwit me, but it has, well, Lith Unwrap has. I've asked umpteen questions about texturing models with Lith but it still defies me with it's evil smile that glares at me and burns into the back of by mind whenever I look at it, but I digress. My problem is such.....

I goto File>Model>Open and select my .x file. I then right click on materials, and goto add. ext I rightclick the new material and goto properies. Then I goto the drop down "diffuse map" menu and select bitmap. Finally I goto properties>change, and select the file I want to be my texture and click ok. I then select the group of my model I want to apply the texture to, right click the material I supposedly created, and lo and behold, the option saying Assign... is greyed out. If there's anyone out there who can help me in my state of crisis and tell me what I'm doing wrong then please please please, help me to outwit the one they call Lith Unwrap.

p.s. (I've tried the tut over at http://www.psionic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorials/lowpoly/zuvm.html but to no avail)

YES OMG, i need a tutorial for this I desperately need it, im having the exact same problems.

I just dont get it, I made a very very simple mesh in 3ds max, made a texture map in lith but when i tried to apply the texture with an unwrap uve modifier, the shape was really off! WTF!

Also I have a question if you dont mind... So I made a cube in max, opened it up in lith, applied box mapping, and it gave me 6 square faces. But then when I save it, and open it up, they arent exactly "square", there rectangular! So OBVIOUSLY when I try to texture it in max, its all screwed up! Whats the deal?

@Indian Homie G ever here of hi-jacking a thread

@Everyone Else Any ideas, maybe there's a different texturing program out there apart from Lith (preferably free, or cheap) I just can't really get very far graphically until I can texture my models, thanks in advance.
