Okay so if I made my map in like CShop or something then exported to .x, what would be the best way to do the collision inside of the room? I looked at Kensupen's sliding collision code but I couldn't really figure out how to use that...too complicated . Also I looked at NG's collision thing...sort of complicated also. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

if you're looking for simplicity, NG is probably the best choice, it has lots of users here who will all be able to help you. it may look complicated at first, but it's actually pretty simple once you try it.

otherwise, if you want to try your own, investigating the intersect object command is a good start.

and if you like Physics, you can always use Newton

You've got several options, (the new advanced intersect object DLL, NG, etc..)but they'll all have some level of complication. I'd recommend NG's because if you sit and learn it, it really isn't overly complex and it is really useful.

Programming takes time and knowledge. The more care you put into learning this stuff, the better your programs will be for it.

The moment this stuff gets as easy as, "TURN ALL COLLISION ON", I won't be nearly as interested in it. SOME level of refinement is nice to have.

Okay, thanks, will look up on intersect object.

I also heard Sparky's collision DLL uses some intersect object stuff, does anyone recommend that for rooms????

Thanks for the responses
