Search this board for Panda. It's an export plugin for Max.

We seriously need a .X exporting thread. I see at least 3 threads a week about how to export to .X, and it really makes me angry, because all these questions have been answered many many times before. We need a .X sticky.

first export to 3ds, then you can search the web for a file called "convx.exe", from microsoft, is an utility for developers, downloadable from microsoft site. the full pack of utility is about 150 mb, but you can easily find this file ( i've found it in 3 clicks) from someone. (about 450kb)
The DBC converter is obsolete.

While a sticky post would do, if people used the search function more (and the search function would scan deeper than the title), I think there would be less posts.

to install panda drop it into the max plugin folder

for max 6 this is usually

c:\3ds max6\plugins

then it will be accessable from the export dialog, click the little drop down box and scroll until you see panda directx exporter (or something similar)
