Ok here's the deal, i have a 3d model of a woman, low poly of course (837 polygons), However i just can't animate the model!! i've tried using that character studio thing but for some reason it makes the model all distorted and weird. I have Gamespace PLE BUT that only lets you do models of 650 polygons or less, i've tried redcing the poly count on the model to get it to work in gamespace but the textures don't sit right. i have at my disposal 3ds max 4 (with character shop), truespace 3.2, cinema 4d ce 6, doga cga and..... no i think thats it.. anyway none of them seem to make a good export to .X to use in DB

I can see from your smile, you're not here for the sunset.

You can try using bone animation in MAX using this tutorial (and exporting to .X using Panda).

Not sure how good of use it'll be, but hey.. it's something.

that's a lot of software

give the demo of CharacterFX a try, it's the tried-and-true solution for animated .x files that work in DBPro

you need to use the physique modifier to assign verts to each bone, otherwise it can look quite ugly (the reason it looks distorted and weird)

This has gone from a question about animation to some "other" stuff.
