Someone please help I have made a really good model of a person in max 5 and have animated it using biped (character studio) breathing i export it using an exporter called DirectX Exporter this exports all the textures and mesh correctly but no animation.
i use the command "set object frame 1,OF" (OF is the frame number plus 1 each time if over 3o it goes back to 0).
Are there any other direct x expoters for max 5?

Does DBpro do keyframes ie. export each keyframe of your animation and switch between them in dbpro which then fills in the missing frames?

Thanks for any help

IIRC .X models use keyframes and DX interpolates them automatically, you can even adjust the interpolation settings in DBPro. If this is your 35k polycount model, then I would'nt be surprised if it was too big to handle animations in DX. Perhaps the bones simply can't hold all the information for the rigged verts.

Hmmm ok i'm using biped instead of bones maybe dbpro just doesnt properly support it.
Or it could be what you said.

try DLing Panda DirectX plugin for max 5, it has a tab specifically for animations under the various output settings just before you export the model, not sure if it works with bones, but know it does support animations, panda seems to be by far the best directX exporter plugin for max.

dunno right off hand of a site you can get it from but if ya do a search im sure you can find it, and i will post a link back here later
