i remember a while back trying to get the community to put in on a star trek fps mmog for db users, where we would put the faces of db users on the models themselves, we didnt quite get a suitable engine up, but we did have van b's model running around a corridor with some collision. if i can find a picture i will post it.

If im not too late..........heres an idea for the Electricity gun and Helgun: http://www.freewebs.com/btmarshall

I dont know what happened, but the image is kinda huge so youll have to roll and scroll to see the whole thing. Never mind the junk at the bottom, its for a different project.

4th edit--
By the way, what level editor are y'all gonna be using? The only level editor I can work is Deled, I can make a few levels if someone would ask. If so..be specific

Robx - Cool , atm im trying to get some collision into the engine, it is working, but a bit glitchy.
Faces are a good idea , maybe we could just have icons or something floating by the players, could use avatars if you wanted.

Game Freak - Those are some nice concepts. I'll put them up on the site when it's done, that's two things for the game sorted , anyone want to contribute anything else?

The level editor we are using is custom made tile based editor. It is in early stages atm, I just added basic file saving and loading to test collision in the actual game. The editor can take any objects, and even whole levels, just the idea of a grid is to speed up a level. There is a guy making tiles atm (Joao Mustro), and darkcoder has already made a tileset that I am using to test. Will post screens when it's worth it .

looks really nice hamish, and yeah avatars might be good, sort of liek how the new unreal games do it, when someone says something it pops up with a video call of their model's profile, could have that with our avatars etc.

Ye, loaded in a grid of letters from a png file, using animated sprite, and then change the sprite frame accordingly, then paste sprite to the screen.

using an animated sprite... that's probably the best idea anyones come up with yet, much better than a series of images. Any idea when your going to update the website?

Hamish, if im to understand correctly, this is a multiplayer project only right? No single player missions?

CPU - Hopefully soon! I need to get Broken to update the template, then I guess I could upload a demo and some screens. I could just add to the documents as we go along .

Game Freak - Yeah, multiplayer to start with. Single player mode could of course be added, but after we have a fairly comprehensive multiplayer mode .
