Well I've made a new human model in wings, this is probably my fifth model,as I have a found I have an ability to make Cloud esque swords (I won't say the proper name for fear of being banned)

I'll post another pic in a while. He's not texture, as I want to learn how to model humans correctly before moving
on to textures.

Got anime?I do.

When showing off models, I think it's a good idea to capture more than one angle... like, this guy looks good. But does he have huge arms, or is it just the angle the camera is at?

If you wanted to say bastard swords its fine. We all know your talking about swords and not using it as a cuss word. If it filters it as a swear you can just use b*stard or something. It wont catch this post cuz of moderator status.

The model is good for one of your first, but a few critiques.

The face is too round, its not really human shaped. Its like a balloon.
The arms are far too long.
The shoulders are far too big compaired to the rest of the body.
He seems very thin.
His feet are way too small.

Try using 2-3 reference images when modelling a human (front, side, top when you can get it) it will keep proportions correct.

Post some more shots tho, a lot of my critiques might be from the angle.

Good work for an early model.

I agree with all your critques RPGamer, But I'd like to hear from you again when I post the next angles, and see if you stick with your comments like I do, because I agree with you 100%, especially with the head, but compared to my last it's more human see "My 1st/2ndish model"
The humans head was really wide and looked like a robot, and on proportion, I'm trying to get better at that, I was trying to make the body wider and I think I might be able to do it and post a new pic with the angles...

Eh..let me sum up what rpgamer said. It's outta proportion. Simple as that. Goto fineart.sk and learn! use that place as your guide.

And eh..keep at it. And do keep us posted!

That movie was hillarious. Except when he was singing "Twist and Shout", that definitely wasn't him singing.

Yeah, especially considering that it was the Beetles that did that particular cover of that particular song.

Funny movie though! Especially if you were a teen in the 80's.

Also, it wasn't him singing Wayne Newton's song either. Atleast he didn't sound like a little fat kid with a woman's voice from the 50's.

I keep my word, the models are out of proportion. THe legs are far too skiny and dont have enough shape to them. The shoulders are still too big and his head looks like a balloon, there is practically no differenece between front and back.

That's just a bunch of insults, obviously your not a critic, you didn't even give advice on how to make it better and I'm still learning, I didn't use any tutorials. And if you see the actual model the head does not look like a balloon.

A critic doesn't have to tell you how to make something better, a critic criticises, hence the name

LOL. AnimeBlood..how old are you? Really? Do you think much? Now I'm going to give you some honest critism. You can trust and take it from me. I know what I'm talking about and my work will back it up. So listen up. You might learn something.

At first you wanted comments...and not critism. So I'll give you comments..but its all critism in the end.

1. Your models suck. Really bad. Honest to God they suck! You can trust my opinion No offense intended. Thats a comment and its true.

2. Your models are way outta proportion. YES THEY ARE. OPEN YOUR EYES..no one looks like that. Come on think! RPGamer told you exactly how to make it better. It's seems your not an emotive reader. He said "He legs are far too skiny and dont have enough shape to them. The shoulders are still too big and his head looks like a balloon, there is practically no differenece between front and back" He told you exactly what was wrong with it..and if you were slightly preseptive..you would have changed that.

3. Your still learning. This is true..But dont show us this crap and execpt us to say 'hey great..its horrible..but its good!' Dont step up to the plate if you cant even hit the ball.

I was horrified that rpgamers words just flew right over your head..or maybe under your head cuz your heads in the clouds.

Hehe. Understand that the above words were completely uncalled for..but I feel better now! BTW nothing I said was incorrect or 'off'.

Cheers...dont take it too personal

lol...okay i had the same problem as you when it came to modeling..

so don't feel bad that this is the best you can do so far..

but please do not promote it as a awesome model...i can understand you posting this here, listening to RPGamer's very helpfull advice, then going and working on the model...

but you shouldn't be bashing RPGamer and telling him he was insulting you...

As you can see, your proportions are way off. This is the point I have been trying to make, but you took it too harshly.

Sorry, about the way I acted, I also forgot, I was trying a chibi style, which also it is a bit out of proportion still, but I have some problem, some small mental problem with taking things the wrong way, so I am very sorry bout that RPGamer, and I just found some anime proportion in my how to draw manga book.

hey mate, ignore the book, I've read those books and I gotta say, those books screw yur style... Yur natural style is(should be anyway) yur best style. Always remember, like spagetti coding theres also spaghetti modeling, dun do it(unless yur just wasting time or experimenting something), draw some concepts up, scan em in and clean em up for 3d point/vertex guides(basically just plot a vertex in where theres meant to be detail-curves, patterns, details etc)

brent means well, sure he meant no malice, so does all(most?) the others. btw, first humanoids always look crappy, my first humanoid was ugly, UGLYYYYYYYYYY, soooo ugly I deleted it... ahhh the memories...hehehee >_<"

and try not to post models without saying yur intentions for, dif intentions can mean dif model styles, in yur case chibi. Chibi 3d doesn't work that well, I find it harder to do chibi then normal, but then thats me...

goodluck ^_^

Here's a head I did not mean to make I was making a bottle potion and I messed up and so it looked like a funky goblin, any comments, I know it's not that good but it's better than the models on my head and it took all of 15 minutes.

Just out of curiosity, does whatever modelling program you're using not have ortho views?

Over inflated?

oooh, the model

No, no comments. It's far too difficult to see any detail in your pics. You don't seem to use any true ortho views, not to mention some of the shadows obscure whatever detail may be there.

Use the printscreen button and get us a few shots of the wireframe. From that we can help with the topology and the like.

But yeah..it sorta looks like a lowpoly orc head. Coolbeans.

Dude, books help. They show you bone structure of people. They help direly when it comes to muscles. If you want a muscular guy, follow some muscle pics.

You don't even need a book, try some human anatomy websites. There are tons.
