I was wondering how trial versions work.

I'm asking because there's this little overpriced game that my girl is addicted to and the trial version time is up.

I'm guessing that there is some file like a ".dat" file or something that is left behind somewhere like in the "windows" directory or something, even after uninstalling the program.

I would buy it if I had the money, a credit card, and it wasn't overpriced. So, if anyone could help I would greatful.

Note: If this is not the correct place for this, but you still want to help just email me, Underworld1020@yahoo.com, thanks!

This is a site full of Indi developers - so I wouldn't expect you to get any help in stealing from another Indi developer.

i think he's asking how to effectively crack trial versions.

Hrm. Flashing Blade is right. I doubt you'd get much help from here, as we all know the immense amount of work that goes into developing a good game.

How much does the game cost?

There may be something which she would be equally happy with but is cheaper.

Most of us make games here.... Including TGC, what do you think would happen if 1337 trial crax were revealed?

It's simple, you just steal the money from your neighbors then buy the overpriced game, Doi.

I don't just go around wanting to crack every program their is.
I bought many programs for the full amount: Nuclery Glory, DB, CShop,Avi Maker, and other programs too. I also know how much hard work a person or a team puts into a project, it's a lot of work. However, when a game is made and then overpriced, then it's their own fault, I only pay if I think the developer deserves it!

Underworld 1020, I'm sure you had good intentions for this thread in trying to help your daughter getting a game, yet this still falls under piracy.

Being as most of us are game developers(if not all) on this forum, I'm going to have to lock this thread, for piracy is something we contantly battle and don't want to support.

Take RobK's advice and look for a similiar game, or perhaps even download a freeware game that is similiar.

Thanks.
