As most people know, I've got a somewhat surreal sense of humour and I'm frequently extremely frivolous.

The product of this disturbing mix today is the following game, thrown together in two hours of sheer sillyness this evening: http://cattlerustler.dbspot.com/manamana.zip

To create the game shove all the media in the same folder as the *.dba file and compile the *.dba file as normal.

To play the game move the gunsight over the Forum Mods and press mouseclick to "shoot them". You've got a fixed time limit and you get a final score when the time runs out.

Please post your highest scores here - lets see whose best at this.

Finally, a great big "moooo!" and thank you to CattleRustler for kindly hosting the zip file for me.

Cheers

Philip

**EDIT: For DBC users the compiled exe can be found at: http://cattlerustler.dbspot.com/manamana_compiled.zip

PS: If you have any comment on this game, please do post it here. But don't forget it took 2 hours to make and is intentionally very, very, stupid indeed.

Fantastic!
Put this just before the sync in the main loop:
color backdrop rgb(rnd(255), rnd(255), rnd(255))

Yeah, and as we discussed a moment in the IRC room, in any future version I should make the screen wobble and the textured plains roam up and down randomly.

Is it just me or are a lot of people being coy in not posting their scores? Come on! We want to see them.

My highest so far: 2710.

Although I wasn't able to stand up for 5 minutes after that feat.

My score was 2000 something.
I liked the motion blur effect.
And it was cool how if you looked at one row, it would slow down and the other would speed up.

Thanks for pointing this out to me in the EZrotate thread Philip! I thought my head was spinning from rotational maths (what a pun!). That was until I played your game.

By the way, I love the Manamana song! We listened to that OVER AND OVER again on our way to the beach last year. It's on one of my kid's music CD's. The muppets are so cool.

Now that song is going to be stuck in my head for days...

As I've explained on the Convention thread in the General Forums, I've got an even crazier idea for the coding compo.

Yes, I can exclusively reveal that it will feature the Benny Hill chase music.

Whew...that was quite interesting...

From my first game:

Shots fired:332
Shots hit:247
Accuracy:74.4
Score:1837

Second attempt (I changed my strategy):

Shots fired:381
Shots hit:307
Accuracy:80.6
Score:2473

That's a little better...
