The inventory shop is now fully programmed and modeled. As you can see the roof disapears when you enter so you can see what's going on inside. Clicking the mouse in front of the desc brings up the shop GUI where you can buy and sell items. You can also organize your inventory with the left mouse button, rightclicking on them to sell them. Selling items only give you 50% back (rounded down).

60-65 FPS on my Athlon 1200 and GF2Pro

The boxes are 100% Photoshop. The items are renders from Lightwave adjusted in Photoshop if anyone wonders.

Sure do. It's buggy now but once the bugs are solved it will be so great. It's better to start on DBP asap since your old code may need a lot of porting work later.

Are you gonna make a selling game out of this?

Code of the Week: Moving an object back.
If Downkey()=1 then Move object x,-10
x=Object Number

I am pretty sure it is going into a competition, and the winning games will go on a CD, that may even be released to the public.

Correct me if im wrong DG

Ya, the contest prize is $100 US. That's ok, but the best part is we all get a portion of the final CD sales. That is, if we finish of course
BTW- Contest is closed to new entrants, and the official due date is today, but the date has been extended for a couple months.

RPG and Rap prety much covered it. All now existing games for the contest are winners if they can make it done on time (unless they chage the date). All winners will be put on a CD and sold over internet and maybe (if they get a publisher) it will show up in stores in US. They have gotten some previous titles published so it looks bright =)

If for example 5 games make it and the CD is sold for $20 we will split 50% of that, $10/5 = $2 for each developer for each copy sold. The nice thing is that they already got fans waiting for this CD =) If it's sold in a store I guess we have less to split from.

Petrat:
A wordwrap dll would be very useful for those who can't code it themselves =) Sure is good for message boxes.

Did you know that Petra is a female name here in Sweden =)

The official deadline have always been 1 Mar, but they have been unclear on that one. They wanted complete games by 1 Jan and then there would be 2 months extra for changes if they wanted any.

I believe they use the . instead of the , in some countries. They CLAIM to have gotton somthing like $250000 before, but I doubt that, maybe $25000 or $2500. Anyway, if it is sold in stores, we will each get more money than if it is sold online. I don't expect to get over $1000, if that, but you never now. I can dream can't I?

Rap:
Yes, in Sweden we uses , instead of . however . is better when programming as , is a good separator.

$250000 is a lot for their crappy games. But then the US marked is very big and getting it into stores might do the trick. Maybe they meant for all games? If not then I wouldn't stop making PG games =) At least here in sweden I could have like 7 well paid workers for that sum.

Btw, for that kind of money they must have sold about 17857 copies (VoB costs $14). I've heard that it's possible for smaler game companies to maybe get 4000-6000 copies sold.

If the CD get published and sold in US I don't think 1000 copies would be so hard. If it's only sold online then I think 1000 is gonna be hard.
