Hi everyone,

This is one of my newer models, it is possibly going to be used for an upcoming game.
Well.. I don't know what else to add, so here you go:

They are very high poly, so warning for you 56kers.
[edit] IT'S JUST BIG.

Well poke me with a fork and call me stuart.. That is one NICE model! Wish I could do that.. I tend to just glue spheres and cubes together till I get roughly what I want

Poly-count doesn't matter if it's an image.

Holy crud man! Nice! Reminds me of the Lord of the Rings games.

The legs could use a metal texture along with the shiny gray (unless i'm not seing it right).

The level of realism with Poser 5 is way better then version 4, although I had created some nice stuff with 4 too. My only criticism is that the model looks semi girly in the face. When I think about what knight might look like, handsome and slightly rugged.

poser?

awwwwwww, i was about to complement you on an absolutely awesome model, but its not all your own work. If you'd built from scratch, then i would have been bowled over

how do you plan to get that into a game anyway?

I don't have a sig, live with it.

'how do you plan to get that into a game anyway?'

I don't think you could unless he plans on rendering a 2d series of frame for each animation he needs... maybe it's a 2d game?

looks a bit gay. smothing groups on the nose are F*ked up, apart from that, nice composing, try to rough is armor a bit, maybe some dirt, scratches and blood, sword blade must be more shiny and scratched as well as some blood on it. Keep up the good work.

I was very impressed, but when I found out it was Poser I was significantly less impressed. It's also way too high poly to be used as an in game model.

Its would be amazing to use in a sprite based game. but High res sprites are something I have yet to be seen used.

Sounds like framerates will be hard to come by in this game if you make everything high poly.

There's nothing wrong with poser.. it's basically a rendering system. You can export the models also .

nothing wrong with cheating when you are a one man team.

Seriously.. game development companies have teams of 20-100 people. 1 man does not a "half life 2" make.

I have to remake it anyways, I can't animate that model.

I didn't mean that as a burn Lynx. I was sticking up for your use of Poser.. stuff like that makes perfect sense from a logistics standpoint.

Sorry.. no foul meant.

How is the hair done? Is it just a bunch of polys with alpha maped hair textures on them?

Fantastic. Does poser really make these good of a models? im gonna need to check em' out. nice moddel by the way. I think he's perfect for a knight medieval driven game, but he's too high poly. could be used to make your self a short film or something.

Yep, and dont worry Lynx about him looking 'gay'. Just alter some of poser's presets and give him some stronger features.

cheers.

Or maybe add a slightly darker skin tone, with dirt, scratches, and other battle markings! That would make him look more manly.

It's all in the face, theirs no strenght to the features...just round and smooth..and expression would help. But I'm with Mike. I dont know if I'd call him girlie..not until he put that sword away..

Two things:

1) The sword I recognize. United Cutlery Brands is all I'll say... (I have one of the other swords in the collection myself; that's why I recognize it.)

2) The face is a bit too androgynous for my taste. Though it is beatifully modelled, I'd prefer a more "macho" style. All depending on the game, of course. The style of the game is what controls it all. But for my personal taste it's a bit too neutral/feminine.

Armor and other design features are superb, however. Great work!

Yeah no kidding. 120k makes my computer crash in truespace. I'd say that's closer to 50k. Although, the hair might really through off my estimate.

I like the face much better now.
