Hiya all,

Here's a beta of v1.02, should have the final version out within a week.

The help system is not upto date, so here's some of the new features.

Press [BACKSPACE] to delete the slot and shift the data up.
Press [INSERT] to insert a slot and shift the data down.
Press [HOME] to goto the start of the pattern
Press [PAGE UP] and [PAGE DOWN] to shift to the 0, 16, 32, and 48 key positions.
Press [SHIFT] and [UP]/[DOWN] to select an area.
You can copy and paste the selections from the tools menu (will be mapped to CTRL+C/V).
You can insert and delete song sequence data.
You can record to .wav at 22.5 or CD quality.

There will be more features, like automatic panning, fading and transposing using the new block select system.

We want to hear your .mp3's - so get them composed and posted.

Get it here (6mb):

This is the older version, sorry, don't have a screenshot of the new version yet.

That is seriously cool - I've seen nothing else written in DBPro that equals the quality of this yet (please people prove me wrong if you can).

Cheers,

Thanks guys!

Look out for v1.01 - loadsa bug fixes, browse other drives, full help system, tool tips, Insert/delete sequences, and a new intro song - should be released tommorow (it's all done except for the finishing touches to the new song).

Simple is compiling some .wav sample packs too, for different styles of music.

I plan to look into .wav export in the near future - dying to make a CD with VSD Tracker tunes on it .

Hi All,

v1.01 is uploaded and ready, if you have v1.0 already, please download and use this version - songs will still work, however the frequency on some notes has been changed to suit the standard sampling rates - perfect sample loop playbacks in other words.

You can now click on a slot to select it, and theres a much better help system. User friendliness was the focus on this update, along with a few bug fixes.

Also, it is possible to browse other drives now, so using those sample compilation CD's is so much easier now. Note, if you've loaded samples from a CD, save your song and load it back in again before changing CD's.

Here's a download link:

i have a question about vsd... maybe the answer is in the 1.01 help menu, but how do you a) play the songs on the tracker so you can hear it fully, not just a pattern, and b) how do you compile it into a media format?

beatiful program tho, i love it!

Thanks Cardinal .

There is no media output yet, that'll be in the next version - CD quality wave output will be in in v1.02, along with some other additions.

You can play the entire song by clicking 'PLAY WHOLE' in the tools menu. Note the 2 different play buttons as well; the one with the 2 bars at each side of the black triangle plays the pattern, the other play button plays the song from the current position.

This software was originally designed for our own personal use... so we could incorporate atmospheric music into our DB projects without any need for a mp3 license etc.

Then we decided to release it to the DB community with the .DBA file so others could do the same.... now we have added .WAV export, so anybody can use it for what ever they like ( not limited to DB anymore )

It's not the next generation E-Jay .... but it suits our needs and has a very user friendly interface.

Why so sad Act? - still no joy with getting it working?

The next version won't be done before the compo deadline, all my time is devoted to that at the mo, but after that I'll finish up v1.02 and get it released.

Thanks , it's based heavily on the old style soundtrackers. Modplug is too windowsy for my liking, this is the only music maker that I use!. I don't think the PC took to soundtrackers in the same way as the ST and Amiga, so we decided to take things back a decade or so and base it on TCB Tracker on the ST, hence the non-standard song format.

I've burned 4 songs onto a CD from it and it sounds pretty cool, I'll probably upload one soon, a remix of a Static-X song that is intended for the first demo of Stoked2.

Hi, Nice little tracker. But it says in the readme thing that there's an included replay.dba file. Its not. I downloaded the file vsdtrackerv102final.zip twice just to make sure. Would like to see if i can code a demo like the old amiga days using your tracker system for the music.

Ahh, 'Simple' must have thought the .DBA was the source for the whole thing, and taken it out - I'll post the code to replay modules tonight.
