I've been doing some hard drive cleaning/maintenance today, and as well as releasing the Level Maker 3D source code I have brushed up the .Net IDE a little. If I can find a way of protecting the commercial syntax component I may release this as open source...anyway, the features:

* Full syntax highlighting (with injector for TPC's etc)
* Full *.dbpro maintenance, can even read corrupted or otherwise damaged/malformed projects.
* Option explicit integrated parser, like the VS.Net output window
* XP style user interface (fully customisable)
* DBP/DBC support (DBC supports needs DBP/DBP demo installed)
* DBP activation/DBP dll supported
* Refactoring toolbox
* Plugin support with direct access to the syntax component

Some screen shots (sorry for the size):

Looks cool! Gonna take a closer look at it when I get home.

Well Done!

Thanks

Merix:
You should run the setup.exe and then it will run the msi, but if you got away with running the msi, then thats fine

I noticed the variable checks, nice touch. Helps keep spelling mistakes and those dynamic variables in check!

Some things I noticed, which keep me from using this.

There is no right-click functionality and the buttons at the top are anything but self-explanatory.

There is a noticable delay when doing just about anything but typing.

Thanks for the good comments...

Phaelax:

Yep, people wanted option explicit, so this is the closest way without it being in the compiler..it also gives warnings about directly referencing media e.g. "C:\myPic.bmp"

JeBuS:

What sort of stuff do you want in right click, I've never really though about adding it

You need a pretty beefy computer unfortunately, its between DB syntax being hard to parse (spaces etc) and also the .Net framework not being super fast

Well, the usual right click stuff would be nice. Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo, Delete, Select All. If what you say is true, and the delays can't be overcome, I'll be sticking with Blue.

Because it was programmed in a .NET language.

Helps to read.

If you overwrote your original editor then you will need to reinstall DBP, or maybe the DBP editor upgrade will work..I'm not sure.

It's not high on my list of priorities right now, but I will have a look into the speed (maybe reducing the multiple word commands to single words may work)

I don't like it because it pops up a million boxes when I type a cammand and always does stuff to my code(and it's slow and has an annoying prompt: "Are you sure you want to quit?").

The default editor is fine.
